Munich - Down in deepest Bavaria

Munich is the third largest city in Germany, after Berlin & Hamburg, and capital of the Free State of Bavaria, the largest German state in terms of geographic size. To the east and south respectively, it borders the Czech Republic and Austria.

If you’re driving to Munich for a match, the ground is easy to access, as it is right next to the intersection of A9 and A99 motorways to the north of the city. For directions from the motorway to the stadium see our ‘City centre to stadium’ page.

While in many cases the distances involved are substantial, the German autobahn network at least provides good road links to the other Bundesliga venues.
